POOL INFORMATION:

Weather permitting we will try and keep pool open on Saturdays and Sundays thru September.  Thanks for your support this summer!

HOLE-IN-ONE:

Congratulations to Larry Callison for his hole in one this month on #17. Larry used a seven iron to ace the hole. Way to go Larry!

Welcome

August seemed to fly by and we are already getting things ready for the fall season.  This month will feature the Final MGA Thursday night Scramble as well as the year ending Skins game. For the ladies we will host the annual Bayou Belle.

Since we were able to convert the pool to saltwater I will be opening the pool on weekends for your enjoyment. The pool will be open on Saturday from 1-5 and Sunday 1-5. This will be based on the weather that particular day.

Full results from the Hully Gully are online at www.frenchmansbend.com.  I would like to thank the LGA and the MGA for their recent purchase of our new fan on the patio. This large fan will now make it more enjoyable for you to sit outside during these hot days.  The course will be open all day Labor Day. Please call the Golf Shop for tee times.  Also the pool will be open from 12-7 for you and your families.

New Faces

As you may have noticed we have had some changes around the golf shop and cart barn areas. If you see a new face please stop by and introduce yourself to the new staff members.

TIP FROM THE PRO:
by: Chris Brister

"Making more Putts"

When you miss from short range, blame it on yourself. To make more of those knee-knockers during your round, concentrate mainly on your last 15-20 warm-up putts.

Try this drill to help you out. Stick a tee in the ground on the practice green and try to hit it with putts ranging from 3, four, and five feet. Then after doing that, take the tee and place it in the ground right behind a hole on the green. Keep putting at the tee and let the hole get in the way of it.

When you're on the course, picture the tee being directly behind the hole, don’t be surprised when you start making more short putts. Practice this drill and this will help you with your shorter putts.
